Welcome back to Classics Confidential! The first interview of the autumn takes us to London to talk to Marie Curie fellow Alexandra Trachsel about her work on the Hellenistic scholar Demetrios of Skepsis. Demetrios wrote 30 books of commentary on a passage of Homer’s Iliad which described the area of Asia Minor (modern Turkey) where he lived. Only 75 fragments of this work survive, and Alexandra tells us about some of the challenges – and exciting possibilities for innovation – that she has encountered during her work on a new digital edition of these fragments.
You can find out more about Alexandra’s work on her blog, Travelling with Demetrios of Skepsis.
