In May this year the University of Erfurt hosted a one-day workshop on the topic of Lived Ancient Religion and Medicine, which brought together an international group of scholars to explore aspects of illness and sacred healing in classical antiquity. During the lunch break, organiser Georgia Petridou and the LAR project director Jörg Rüpke found time to record this short film for Classics Confidential, in which they explain the aims and intellectual underpinnings of the workshop and the broader LAR project.

You can find out more about LAR on the University of Erfurt website, but first, follow this link to watch our mini-documentary!
