We caught up with Dr Susanne Turner at the Classical Association conference in Cardiff after listening to her fascinating paper on “Religious Viewing on Votive Reliefs”. In this interview she tells us about her research into Attic grave stelai, and what these monuments can tell us about perceptions of death, gender and the family in Classical Athens.
