Greek literature of the Imperial Roman age is the topic of the week here at Classics Confidential. Dr Tim Whitmarsh from Corpus Christi College, Oxford tells us about the lives and works of ‘late’ Greek writers like Lucian of Samosata (depicted above), why he chose to study these authors at doctoral level and beyond, and how their literary productions tie into contemporary trends in cultural criticism.
