This week on Classics Confidential Elton talks to Dr Katherine Harloe from Reading University about her work on classical reception studies and democracy.

In the first half of the interview she tells us about some of the issues that she raised at last month’s Democratic Turn conference, and how these relate to broader themes in classical reception studies. In the second video, we learn about her current research into methodological disputes in German Classical Studies in the second half of the eighteenth century. We also find out what attracted her to the study of the ancient world in the first place!
